I'm sitting here at work, having ridden here on my RSV thinking to myself about bikes and the consolidation thereof.
I have my RSV for the weekends and sunny days and my F650 for when it's raining.
I'm finding myself seriously considering selling both and buying a BMW K1200S to do the job of both. It's fast, it's reliable, it's comfortable, it handles well (for the size)........... am I mad or just getting old?

That depends if it's a financial situation your just being realistic.

If you just feel like doing it for the sake of it your getting old.

Not sure why I'm considering it. It's not financial that's for sure. I think it's more comfort on 2 wheels.

it handles well (for the size)

Thats what I said about the Blackbird, then after a few months I got sick of the 'for its size' bit and just wanted a light, great handling bike again so bought the GSXR.

To be honest I think you'd regret it. I went away from all out sportsbikes for a bit as I thought I was getting sick of them, but when its a hot sunny day and you're in the right mood theres nothing that compares to a modern sportsbike for giving you an all out thrill. Personally thats why I switched back. The bikes a toy - its all about enjoyment and excitement and the other bikes just didnt provide enough of it and I found I was riding less, especially the spur of the moment, quick sunday afternoon blasts.

You have a point Sagalout. The RSV really puts a smile on my face some times. In traffic and town it's horrible but when it all comes together there is nothing quite like it.
