I think I might have a problem...

I made the mistake of offering a member a 480mm radiator, as I have a bit of a stockpile of water-cooling gear.

When I opened my storage cupboard to take a couple of pictures for him, I realised that my "collection" might be somewhat verging on "hoarding".

The "chesterdraws" is filled with fans, networking gear, motherboard & component boxes, etc.

The tubs stacked to the ceiling contain hundreds of various WC fittings (hard & soft), various sizes of radiators, CPU blocks, pumps, reservoir tubes, EK FLT360, loads of Aquacomputer gear, RGB controllers & fan hubs, case accessories, hard & soft tubing (ZMT/Clear/PMMA/PETG), tools/bending mandrels, heat gun, etc, etc.

And a full MoRa420 setup with 4x Noctua 200mm fans & chrome grill...

Someone tell me it's perfectly normal and I don't actually have a problem, please!?

Anyone else with a "Tardis of Tat" as the Wife lovingly calls our storage cupboard..?

I dont have boxes in the loft full of stuff...nope...not at all

I may or may not still have IDE cables from the early 2000s
while not watercooling... don't we all have the ide cables in the cupboard from the early 2000s, just in case we ever need to use one on a motherboard that doesn't even have that fitting lol

I know I've got some serial cables/adapters tucked away somewhere, along with floppy drive and zip 250mb drive 'just in case' lol. I keep meaning to reduce my 'just in case I need them' storage but I might need them lol

I used to do this but now strictly limit myself to 1 crate. If it can't fit in the crate, I need to sacrifice something from the crate or sell it/dispose of it.

Result is that I have 1 crate of genuinely useful things and was able to recoup funds from anything that didn't fit, or binned it and was free of the clutter. That's a win for me.

Two crates and three shelves in the loft, nothing worth anything,. Socket 475 and 1150 kit, a few Noctua coolers, four old Samsung F3 drives, some fans.

No IDE kit anymore, though I still have Corsair DDR with LED lights from an old Athlon build from the IDE days.
Some molex fan cables too I think.

Probably still got some old Mac, PC AND Server memory too, All from the IDE days I think, server stuff may even be DDR2. Worthless and I can't test it anyway as the wife made me get rid of all the old retro stuff I had.

No water cooling kit as I never got around to it.

I saw your post offering that. I'm in Eastleigh and about to swap a 360 and 280 full loop for an AIO and air cooled 5090 (when OCUK get their Lian Li delivery and fulfil my pre-order)

I was going to take the old water cooling stuff to the local recycling centre, but you're welcome to it if you need to feed your hoarding urge

(Much appreciated, but the Wife would probably kill me...

...and she's after a new patio, so I wouldn't put it past her.)

I've generally become the opposite in recent years, and really try to chuck things away. What annoys me so much though is when I throw things out that have been sat for years, then often within a few months there will come a time where I could have done with one of the things thrown away!

Yes, you do have a problem!
Now give me all that water cooling gear and make your problem become my problem :D :D :D :D

But on a serious note, that aquacomputer gear, cpu block, radiator and some other bits would be very useful.
Why not sell the stuff on MM? I would probably grab some of your stuff.

Currently re-homing my son's rig into a Havn HS420 and will be making use of some of the above (first time doing hard tubing, so wish me luck).

Also building a rig for my nephew out of the spare AM4 components I've got - just need to sort a PSU & suitable case.

Once we're all done, I do intend to sort through the pile and offer it up on the MM - just have a severe lack of spare time at the moment; house stuff, murder trial and sorting EHCP/Care plans for our nieces & nephew...

(That's if I don't just throw a match to the lot, Heath Ledger's Joker-style!)

Good luck, looks like you are going to need it :p

I just moved houses, after 15 years to a temporary one, as my landlord sold the flat and I had to leave in a rush.. working everyday and had no time to find a place for me yet... so yeah I understand the severe lack of spare time

Have you seen my pictures..?
Yes, and I'm trying hard not to make you any offers...... really hard!!
I have a friend who builds PCs with me, and he is also trying hard, despite not even having seen this thread yet!!

I'll just buy a bigger house, thanks.
If you sold all that stuff, you could probably afford a second house.... jus' sayin', y'know :D
I'm sure Mrs Mogg wouldn't mind!
