I don't know, my girlfriends contact lenses just started disappearing. They were only kept on a lowish shelf and were not that hard to get to. I told her to put them in the cabinet itself. Me and GF were watching telly downstairs the next day and the cat walked past with the contact lenses in his mouth. I assumed it was ones he had previously stolen, but when I checked the cabinet they were gone.

So I put the lenses back in the cabinet a waited to see what the cat would do. Sure enough he got them out the cabinet again, and again.. and again.

As the cat's behaviour was now somewhat predictable, the next day I setup some camera's.

Yep, D800e in hall for wide shot, another D800e in the bath to get a close up side view, and my RX100 in the cabinet itself.
I let the cat see me put the lenses away in the cabinet, then walked away...
 
My persian does a similar thing. Loves to knock over bottle that is upright...funny little bugger!
 
So how long did you have to record before he went up to the cabinet?
Or do you have a remote control to start each cam at the right time, or are they motion sensitive?
 
Just started each camera recording, took about 6 minutes for Simba to do his thing (he was purring around the camera's allot), including the time that he saw me put the lenses away...

Haha Bengals have amazing memories, you can put something they want away in a locked drawer and they will remember to retrieve it months later when they find it unlocked.
My two know how to open shut doors, turn the lights on and off, open kitchen cupboards, open wardrobes and annoyingly get under the bath by pulling the side off. Luckily they have not figured out how to open the freezer/fridge yet!
I've had to child proof some things just to keep them from being so nosey! :D
 
My cat steals my socks and hides them in the back room in all the junk. Then he comes back and stands by my head to wake me up, just so I know he's been up to mischief :D
 
Brilliant video.

I've been meaning to set up a video camera in the evening to see how my cat knocks (knocks the proper door knocker) on the front door to be let in.
