i think its broken

hi
i have a gigabyte ga-96p-ds4 and tonight when i tried to boot it it starts for a few seconds (fans spin up then one beep and then it shuts down)

two days ago i reformated with windows server ( i dont think this has anything to do with it)

i have tried removing ram,unplugging hardrives,resetting cmos

and its still the same

the system has run for 3 years solid now

any ideas peeps?

sounds like a bad PSU to me.

got up early this morning stripped the whole lot out and put it back together

its working fine now :eek:

If you're still interested in what it might have been. A lot of PSUs/mobos have safeguards, power surges or overheats which can sometimes cause this. Usually removing mains power for 10-20 seconds then trying again resets it.

I'm assuming you removed the Kettle lead while rebuilding?
