Hi Guys,
I really hope you can help me here because I think my new computer is totally kaput. I've just built this thing in the last couple of weeks and now it won't work.To explain, here's the bits

Asus A8R32-MVP deluxe
Opty 146
2 x 1Gb Crucial Ballistix
2 x X1900XT
Epsilon 700W
X-Fi Extreme Music
Lian-Li V1000+

Got it all up and running after a few hiccups and was very pleased. Now to the bad bit. Last night I was playing Call of Duty 2 when after about an hour the screen suddenly went blank, then came up with the dreaded blue screen saying something about a critical error for about 2 secs then reboots.
Then it starts looking for a bios file after giving a Bad Checksum Error. So I shut it down as I didn't have access to another bios file at the time. Started it up today and get same message. I noticed at the top it said Ati XXXXX R580 CF Bios 1.02 and assumed it was looking for a new bios for the Crossfire master card so got on my boys laptop and found a new bios and burned it to disc. Went on mine, put in disc and it starts looking again, but says it's looking for A8R32MVP.ROM. So I burn the bios onto the disc and try again. This time it starts to flash the bios but after it starts to programme in the new one it comes up with a message saying to shut down and restart to boot system. So I did and after rebooting it flashed again and the same message came up. But now when I start up I just get a blank screen. The monitor won't even come out of standby. I'm now baffled.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

I reckon it's down to the Ballistix. They have gotten so bad now you should RMA them back to where you got them (OcUK I pressume) and get something else.

I would go for Corsair, G.Skill or Mushkin.

But surely the memory wouldn't stop me flashing the bios and at least posting. I forgot to mention that the last time I tried to start it and got the blank screen it also gave two short beeps then nothing. Any idea?

Have you looked in the manual to see what two short beeps means? Have you got any other memory you can try?
