I think my 8800GT is on its last legs, spec an upgrade please!

Suddenly terrified that I have a 125W CPU and a 150W graphics card, with a 460W PSU ¬_¬ Good quality unit, but still, this is gonna get close under load :/

*edit* Being a retard. Pre-morning-coffee maths told me that 125W + 150W = 375 watts...

Slightly more awake, I realise the whole rig will be unlikely to break 350 watts :)

Thanks for the info! Will have to see how funds are as I've seen something for my project car which is a little pricey!

I've spent hours trying to sort my 8800GT but it's not having it :( I flashed the BIOS back to the original, went back to some very old and known stable drivers, also took off the heatsink and stuck on some more of the small heatsinks onto a few bare chips to make sure they weren't overheating, and put IC Diamond on it too, but no difference! :p Even tried running the game in windowed mode to monitor GPU-Z while gaming, but the temps never went past 47c, so it needs replacing.

I think your PSU is on the wya out not your card. I had the same issue a year or so ago. But that is an old card, worth getting a new one anyway, but if the new card does the same, new PSU time.

I've changed everything bar the GPU! PSU, CPU, mobo, case, hard drive, ram. The 8800GT is the only thing left standing now!

The 6950 should be here Friday :D

Don't mean to sound like a jerk, but how is a 2nd hand card with no warranty for same price as new good news?

Well it also has an aftermarket cooler which would be nearly £50 o buy on top (which I would have done), plus it's unlocked to a 6970.

Virtually my whole PC is made up from used parts, bar the case and hard drive. Never had any issues :)
