weird problem just happened, my ethenet port just errored with; 'A network cable is unplugged' so i tryed plugging it in and out, reseting the modem and restarted comp but im still getting the error, so i have plugged my modem into my 'yukon' port to get my connection back, i have tryed the realtek again after doing this and it still dosn't work :(

yes but the yukon does the job, its the realtek that isn't working so i need to know if this can be fixed? possible driver issue maybe...

ahh didnt get that the other was still working...

had you had a look in the device manager.? and tried to update the driver for it.?

and does that error come up in the event viewer.? what is the error exactally.?

:)

i have the latest driver for my realtek, installed it a few days ago maybe a week, i might try going back to the stock drivers from the mobo CD :)

ok the original drivers are installed, now my error has changed from 'A network cable is unplugged' to 'your connection has limited or no connection' the internet still wont work off this port so my cable is back in the yukon :(

edit: i didnt get an amber light with the newer drivers but i do with the older ones

might be a silly question but why cant you just use the Yukon.? lol

the amber light at least indicates the port is sending and reciveing data..

the yukon is also faulty, when i shut down the pc and start it up again the next day the yukon will be missing, so i have to go into device manager and scan it back in :( but apart from that this port can handle an internet connection with no problems. i found this out a while back but never using it i just ignored this problem :(
