I think the MOD are lying about aliens

Until they claimed they had no plans if contact were to happen it was almost believable... when would the MOD admit that something could blindside them unless they wanted everyone to think that there was no possibility...

At first glance I read that as the "MODs" are lying about aliens.

I was thinking that I don't recall ever stating either way that aliens exist or not.

I would subscribe to the camp that says that the government thinks that the possibility of establishing contact with aliens is so vanishingly, vanishingly small that they don't think there's any need to have a plan in place for when it happens.
