I guess it counts towards being able to create threads in other parts though right? I'd rather not have to go jumping around other threads just to have a little input and get the numbers up to at least be able to create my own useful threads.

I believe posts in this sub forum doesn’t increase the post count number at all, so no, it wouldn’t get you closer to certain access thresholds

OcUK (Gibbo to be specific I think) has put voucher codes for the 30xx series cards (could be any GPUs really) in the protected sections of the forums, to allow members of the community to purchase the cards off OcUK at a decent price. It was done to prevent scalpers from buying the cards and reselling and it seemed to have worked better this way.

So lots of new users joining the forums specifically for the codes. Some really salty ones too complaining about not wanting to post much but wanting the voucher

It's the current best way to prevent scalpers from getting it which is more than any other retailer has done.
