I thought the 20MB VM users were on docsis 2.0 ?

I just looked through the modem log (doing some snooping in general) and noticed this:

I wonder, I always thought that 20MB was on docsis 2.0?

Nope AFAIK they are jumping straight to 3.

Aha, well I sure hope it's soon, getting tired of slightly slower browsing speeds during the "student" hours >_<

It depends on the region, not on the service.

Err I dont know about that docsis 1.1 is upto 36MB Downstream, so all Vm customers at present are on on docsis 1.1. You would need a new modem to provide docsis 3.0 access to new speeds, hence when VM go to 50MB, new modems will be needed to implement this to cutomers going to the Tier. Docsis 1.1 customers should see a significant increase in poorer performing areas in UBRs as Docsis 1.0 and Docsis 3.0 customer should be on a completely seperate channel from 1.1 customers. Winners all round I would suggest.
