Like a complete idiot I've poured undiluted coolent into my car. About two litres. After I realised I managed to pour around 1.5 litres of water in to hopefully compensate. Why it's needing so much coolent is a question the mechanic will answer, but am I right in thinking it'll be fine and the water and concentrated coolent will just mix as it passes around the engine? Or does it need a complete flush?

As long as it is within the min/max levels it'll be fine, just maybe go easy for the first 2-3 miles to make sure it has cycled through (or you could just run the engine for a few minutes before driving).

Yeah it is. I'd probably driven it about 3 miles before I realised and added the water though.

Onice I added the water I drove it for a few miles to let it cycle though.

Fom what I can understand, in total the car takes about 5.7 litres. So must have been 2.7ish litres of diluted coolent in already when I added the undiluted.

It'll be fine, crack on

(Technically it would be good to flush the lot and refill but it sounds like you'll be getting it flushed through soon enough anyway so wouldn't worry short term)

If you had to put 3.5 litres of coolant into the car, it's probably not going to be an issue for very long anyway (whether because it'll lose that too or the mechanic will have to drain it all to fix whatever is leaking)
