Hi all.

I want 64GB ram. I currently have 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz - CMW32GX4M2C3200C16.

I have found some CMW32GX4M2E3200C16 - they appear exactly the same but the model number is different by 1 letter, mine is C3200 and the new stuff is E3200.

My questions are would the E variant work with the C? - everything else that I can see is exactly the same , stick with 32GB? or invest in 64GB of a different faster ram?

It's being paired with a 12700, MSI Z690 board and an RTX 2070 super.

Thank you.

why do you need 64gb ?
Because I'm a girl and want two more pretty lights in my PC.
;)

I'm building a new PC, upgrading the CPU and board and just wanted to add two more sticks, do I need 64GB? Maybe not but I'm future proofing my PC for a good 6 years or so, so why not?

Can't tell if serious...
I did use a winky emoji lol.

Seriously, yes, I do want to fill the other two slots with lights and was unaware of those dummy sticks.

Thank you, I'll consider it but honestly there is only £80 difference between those E3200 ram and the dummy sticks, so even if I don't NEED them it does seem silly spending £40 on some lights.

I just need to find out if the E3200 works with the C3200.

Thank you all.

Reason why I thought of dummy is that it takes a lot of research and some luck to end up with compatible pair, especially in so common speed bin
Although motherboards will make any combination work, there could be some speed lost.

So, really, easier to get a new set of 4 or these dummy sticks
Thanks, that's what I was thinking, hence the post.

I think I might get those dummy ones then.

Thank you.

Thank you Tetras.

I'll stick with the 32GB I think and consider whether £40 is warranted for two fake sticks with pretty lights :)
