Seems like there is next to zero choice above 24", if you discount the ridiculosly priced dell 30" you are left with about 3 offerings, whats going on? I have a dell 2407 but its not really big enough i want something a bit bigger but i dont seem to have many options and nearly all of the 24+ ones are 1920x1080. Anything coming out soon?

I went from the 2408 to the Dell 2709W as I wanted a bit more size (I watch a lot of TV on my PC) and I must say I am very impressed. It also deals with games very well too, there is no motion blur and I don't notice the high input lag that these S-PVA monitors (2407/8 included) seem to suffer from.

Alternatively the Dell U2711 is a lovely IPS 27in monitor with a massive resolution and an IPS panel. However, it is hilariously expensive.

Alternatively, there are the 27in TN monitors you have obviously already seen. These will give you some extra size, but you lose resolution, image quality and viewing angles compared to your 2407. There is also a HannsG 28in 1920x1200 TN monitor that usually sells for around £300 - this certainly gives you the size, but the image quality is not among the best I hear.

I have one, the image quality is superb for £280, (in terms of contrast and colour correctness), but the backlight bleed is fairly apparant, although on some pictures I've seen it's laughable, mine is no worse than any other LCD I've seen, but some of them amaze me they ever got through QA.

Basically it's hit and miss with them, I got a good one.

i WOULD suggest a real television.. but not all of them show up that well as a monitor :( apprently u need to look for 1:1 feature on them.. or something maybe some one else knows more about it?

Ah k, I wasn't sure if you wanted more physical screen space or a higher res.
1080p imo is plenty for 32'' and 16:9 is better if you watch a lot of films and series on your pc compared to 16:10 ( and your games will run marginally better due to the lower res).

I have a 2nd monitor too though for the extra res/screen estate.

I mean, that is the best combo I think, a large 1080p screen for entertainement/normal usage/games and an extra screen alongside for when you need it for work/photoshop/whatever, I prefer that above one 30'' 2560x1600 screen or whatever.

Have fun with it :).

Yeah Snowdog im running my 2407 as a side monitor which will be for photoshop work, main tc will be for gaming and general use, thanks for the advice.
