I want a credit card!

I have decided i need to get a credit card but i have no idea what to get. I basically need advice on where to go, companies, what to look out for etc.

I will only ever use it in emergencies as i honestly don't like the idea of credit too much.


Guide me.

If you've got a decent credit rating them go to moneysupermarket and check out the best deals. If you've got a bad credit rating go to Capital One.

But i have never had a credit card before...so i shouldn't have a rating? But what IS a good deal? That's the point of this thread..i don't know what to look for.

No it wouldn't. You buy on a credit card and you get increased consumer protection, you can benefit from cashback deals, you get insurance, you increase your credit rating.

Credit cards are not just to help you buy things you dont actually have the money for.

This is the reason i want to get a credit card.

I've taken a look around on Moneysupermarket and i do have a better understanding about what to look out for - such as low interest rates etc. I will rarely use the card but as i said in the OP, it will be for emergencies.

Now to find a card i like the look of...and by that i mean, appearance.
