I want a HTC Touch Pro and the only place I can find one for a sensible price is offering it on a T-mobile Web n Walk tariff. 700mins, UL texts, 1GB data per month at £35 per month

Email, MSN and the occasionaly google is all I need by way of data so the 1GB/month limit is fine.

Currently have an m3100 (tytn II) on Orange and have been with them for years except one brief switch to Vodafone. Currently waiting for my third handset replacement in as many weeks so think I need to get a new phone

So, is T-Mobile ok?

Ive not had any real problems with T-mobile and Ive been on WM phones and WnW for around 3 years I think.

Id probably say youll get a better data service than you do on Orange so its probably a good move. Though use the postcode facility to check out coverage in the places you need it...

If its any help my work phone (its 2G) is Orange and whenever Ive noticed poor signal my personal phone on T-Mobile hasnt had a problem.

T-Mobile have some weird return policies IIRC so make sure you verify that it will work at locations you need it to.

I've checked my common areas of work and play etc and all seem ok. Phone ordered from a third party who have a 10 returns policy so I should be ok.

Now just need my pac code from Orange.

Cheers :)

Will phone up and see how it costs, I had the vario III but that got stolen a few weeks ago. T mobile has been pretty good to me, web and walk rocks, signal is ok but not as strong as O2 and Vodafone in my experience but generally fine, especially in the south east. Post up how you get on with the Touch pro, ensure its that you get and not the compact as there were some initial mistakes.....

I can't find it on T-Mobile's website, so it isn't the Branded Vario IV then?

I'm guessing it's the unbranded Touch Pro + T-Mobile contract, which is the only thing I can find.

£142 is too much for me, I'll wait til T-mob or Orange do branded versions, should be next month

Didn't get mine from from T-mobile direct, but sounds like it's the place you mention at £142. Orange told me it'd only be offered on a business contract if and when they get it.

Should arrive tomorrow. I've had the previous HTC's with slide out keyboard, so be interested to see if this make's me go Oooo when it turns up.

The Vario 3 was a decent upgrade to the Vario 2 so hopefully this is likewise - hoping build quality is just as good as the Vario 3 - just that damn software that needs a good looking over :p

Dammit, that sucks, I get a 40% line-rental discount with Orange due to where I work, so I was gunning to go with them and save money.

Sadly, we don't get a 50% line-rental discount with T-Mobile like we did a few years ago :(

Well it arrived this morning, and I did go Ooooo at the packaging, then Ooooo at the phone then.... well first impressions are very good. Waiting for my pac code to turn up from orange before I startusing it proper, but can't see any negatives so far :)
