I've had my battery replaced 3/4 times over 3 years free of charge, maybe you should have done the same
lol, see this is what I don't understand. It's always the photo editing/ design/sound crap from Mac users.
What is this amazing photo software that can't be matched by a PC? How many Sound Cards can you install on a mac? CSS 3 Flash, Dreamweaver,etc aren't compatible on a PC?
Build quality? Look at Sony VAIO, Dell XPS, HP Envy, etc. Or wait, let me build a PC using a Lian Li/Corsair/Silverstone case for half the price.

I still rock the old bic biro and paper for sketching
(until I can get my hands on a wacom 21" tablet) I have never used Lightroom but after looking on google they do seem similar. I only got my mac last week so I haven't really seen all the software out there for mac yet, but so far I enjoy doing my creative work on the mac much more then I ever did on PC.Crap? That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I'm not going to be drawn into a apple/pc fanboy slanging match. I have a fairly high spec PC (see my sig), I have a Sony Vaio AR11M laptop and now I have a macbook pro, so I am not really being biased in my earlier comments. The build quality on the mac is far superior to any machine I have owned. I personally enjoy using the mac much more then I ever did using my pc for creative work. That is MY opinion. Yes I am aware you can get cheaper PC's that do the job, but I wanted to experiment with the Mac OS and the different creative programs available such as iMovie and aperture.
Around 670-700 at the time IIRC.
And I know where you are going with this.
. I don't think you can solely judge the quality of a product over a consumable item. My lenovo has had two motherboard failures in the years I've had it. How many times has your mac failed in three years?
Macs are the most overrated overpriced crap ever.
Expensive but definitely not overpriced. Far from it.
Regarding gaming. Mine does a excellent job of the only games i really play. WoW and Source games. Have a xbox, wii and PS3 for everything else.

Logsi makes a good point, it depends if gaming is your only use for the system.
Personally I too only play a few source based games, Football Manager and a couple of others such as Civilization, my 27" i5 breezes through them. Now a £500 PC probably could too but with iMac i have a lovely 27" IPS screen, no base unit and access to software that I wouldn't have access to on Windows, not to mention OSX.
Ignore the sad trolls who spout "OVERPRICED" at every opportunity, you get what you pay for at the end of the day.

I don't own a Macbook Pro for any media-related work. I own a Macbook Pro because OS X is brilliant.
My Windows desktop is also in my signature, and you know? My Macbook Pro, despite being less powerful is a much nicer computer to use. Would I recommend one for gaming? No. It plays Starcraft II perfectly, and that is the only game i'd likely want to play out and about anyway - and even then, i'm unlikely to play it much on my laptop. But it plays it much better than I thought it would.
