Hi

I am looking to print some photos on to postcard- thickness photocard. Any ideas on what printers are capable of doing this?

Thanks

I would have thought most (if not all) inkjets could do this.

You might have to get one that loads paper from the top and spits it out at the bottom as the printer won't have to bend the card round a roller then.

hope it helps.

Most cannot do it, as the paper is too thick for the printer head. I have called many places to try and source paper that a Canon inkjet printer can, and no one can help.

Thanks

it all depends on the GSM of the card (weight in grams) most inkjet printers will print fine on anything up to 2.63 and since a beer mat is about 3.00 I would have thought that a post card would be fine.

(but I just work for a printer/IT reseller so what do I know.... )

;)

Ah I wasnt aware of that- I am just going by what paper suppliers have told me (That a normal inkjet cannot handle postcard thickness) :)

I have a Canon IP5200, but have not found anyone who can supply anything suitable. Do you have any suggestions as to who I could contact? I cannot find such thick paper in the shops.

Thanks

I've had a google and can't find the gsm limit of your printer. I have found a list of paper that it execpts;

Plain Paper, Envelopes, Photo Paper Pro (PR-101), Photo Paper Plus Glossy (PP-101), Photo Paper Plus Double Sided (PP-101D), Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss (SG-101), Glossy Photo Paper (GP-401), Glossy Photo Paper Everyday Use (GP-501), Matte Photo Paper (MP-101), High Resolution Paper (HR-101N), Transparency (CF-102), T-shirt Transfer (TR-301), Photo Stickers (PS-101), Super White Paper (SW-201)

Tbh, I'd just go and buy a few sheet of card from the post office or something and give it a bash.

Sorry i couldn't help more

well i have 3 epsons of different models they all take card, in the printer properties there is a small tick box easy to miss but it simply says thick paper, tick the box and it prints on thicker paper, i have an epson r265 + r285 + r1900 all of which have the option.
