Hi there guys,

Just got £255 given to me and have some money saved up and want a toy for Summer.

Now look at this bargain http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=150244664287&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=005

It comes ready to ride and i am aware i need insurance and i know about the price etc.

But would i get bored of it? I am a real petrol head and love motorbikes, cars and anything fast.

I know its only 200cc but im not after it for speed but something to ride in Summer in the nice British warmth. In winter will it just sit there or will i ride it? I have a garage etc so it wont rot.

Does anyone have a road legal one whom drives a car to work etc. I will be keeping my car for business use etc but hoping the Quad could be used on nice evenings like tonight???

Cheers guys

can you use it on a car liscence?

Yes you can!

I'd get a motorbike my self, but I'm not sure how much bike you could get for £255

I dont have a bike liscence and dont intend on retaking a test for one. I would love a motorbike but i am not doing a test to ride one. I can stand exams and they put me under immense pressure. My life is great and i will just stick to riding off road on my crosser.

But with a quad :) you can ride it on the road with no helmet (which would be daft) and just get from A - B and most quadies are about 110 mpg or close

I'd be worried about when it goes wrong, parts, etc, are going to be difficult to find, and as a road vehicle it's quite compromised in many areas.. and 200cc?? assuming it's a 4 stroke, in a relatively heavy chassis, that's not petrol head thrill performance?

I'd just get a motorbike as well, much much faster, more suited to the road, with no problems getting service/back-up..

The parts a very very easy to get from eBay. I dont want to spend like £3000 - £4000 on a yamaha or kawasaki if im only going to ride it for 2 months in summer and then like 4 evenings a month that its nice in winter.

I just don't see the attraction, 200cc in a quad, I just don't see any 'thrill' factor in it...

Live near water, get a Jet Ski, that's a fun different experience... stil highly seasonal, but it can be a laugh..

My brother had a 200+BHP suerpcharged seadoo thing, it was immensely fast..

Trust me you'll really regret dropping £1k on a quad for the road, they suck big time for road use.

The handling is terrible, very easy to roll over in corners if you try too hard. They make a real mess of the rider too as it rolls on top of you and tries to bury you into the tarmac.

Much better off with a bike, you can get a very capable 600cc sports bike for £1500, it wont handle like a pos either :D

Every time I see someone riding a quad on fields or even worse, on the street, I can't help thinking they look like an utter nob.

I was talking to a bloke who had one once and he was saying that he got pulled over by the police all the time, I’d imagine it could get very annoying after a while.

Theres not an awful lot of police round where i live and a few people have the road legal quads.

Thats your opinion.... I think there amazing machines and real head turners on the road.

I dont want to know if i look a nob or not.... just want to know whether or not its a waste of money for British weather.

I would personally go for a motorbike, quad's are just plain dangerous, pointless and relatively boring after a while for the road IMO.

You obviously want one, so why not :)

We can't tell you how much you'll use it.. i expect they're waterproof.. so it's up to you whether you'll use it in the rain :p

Right... i want one then but its just whether or not i get a 2 seater road legal buggy for £600 more or a 1 seater quad
