So my mate has recently passed his test and has insured himself on his dad's bike. My forty year old bike has developed a nasty rattle at 3k rpm. I'm going to fix it, but there seems to be some new issue every 200 miles. I want something that's simply going run and be good.

I took a liking to the street triple, it was fun, but honestly I just don't know what's out there and what I might like.

What's the best way of doing finance? Dealer finance seemed absolutely ridiculous at close to 10%apr. A bank loan might be better? Zopa?

Just looking for simple advice really lol

I saw this post and popped down yesterday for a nosey. Wasn't really in the market but somehow came away with a deposit on a Street Triple....

Lol, I fixed the rattle on my bike so am no longer 'as keen' on a new bike. I've been looking at loads of reviews though. The MT-09 looks pretty cool too.

Both bikes seem to have throttle issues, the MT09 is by wire so is a bit 'on-off', but the striple is apparently very sensitive. I imagine you soon get used to -and master- both pretty quickly though. I need to test ride the mt-09, I've been on the striple and it was fantastic.

Then I need to look at how I can afford a new toy :p
