Hi there,

Now Xmas is over i want some new toys. I have got a few gadget so i thought this year i would get a really cool remote for my home cinema equipment.

I have narrowed it down to two brands which i have heard both good and bad things about. I have around £60 to spend (a ridiculous amount i think, so anymore is just too ridiculous for my liking)

The two brands are Kameleon (One For All) and Logitech Harmony remotes.

I have heard that the Kameleon remotes (the light up ones) have quite poor battery life and run out of batteries really quickly. Does anyone know if this is so with the Thrid Generation remotes?

I have heard that the harmony 550 remote is generally crap, but that was only from one person.

Anyone got any opinions on either of the remotes?

Happy Holidays!

Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry wrong general section (thanks for moving mod!)

 Function over form. I use MX-500 and MX-700's and they're good remotes, although the MX-700 is far quicker and easier to setup.

If you just want something that looks pretty, buy a Pronto. But they're horrible to use.

Still I guess that doesn't matter, as long as it "looks pretty" Kameleon is a touch screen, so it's hard to use

Every time you want to configure your remote you need to go online. I personally don't like this feature because if you don't have net access your remote is totally useless. You can't save your config file on your hard drive either.
