I have a Q6600, 2x1gb OCZ9200 Ram and a Asus x38 mobo all running nicely at 3.6ghz.

I want to get another 2 sticks of RAM and perhaps a CPU upgrade, but with the Q9550 only having 8.5 multi I am unsure if it will be better, especially as 4 sticks of memory wont help the FSB.

What are my chances of it being better than the good old Q6600?
 
ive just done that swap and dont regret it, also got 4gb ram, the 9550 is about 10-15 degrees down on my q6600 with the same cooling.
the q6600 was only clocked to about 3.1 max, this has already gone up to 4.01
