I want another gig of ram...but

I have two 512mb of twinmos PC2700 and want to get another gig. That brand of that type of ram isn't easy to find, however, and was wondering if another brand would work with it?

I'm really not sure whether brands of RAM like each other, but I know for a fact that TwinMOS is VERY fussy about both boards and RAM pairing... wait for someone else who knows what they're talking about tbh

I did try another brand of ram long while back and my system refused to boot up....both sticks worked fine by themselves. I was using Windows 98 back then though, and a different MB.

Funny actually. When I took it back to the shop (a little personal shop) the guy actually told me I could bring in my current ram stick and swap it for another like the one I just bought.

I was like "eh".


I should have done it really.

2Gb is so cheap nowadays I'd just get the cheapest 2Gb kit.
