I want some fuzz for my guitar....

Hey guys

been looking for a Fuzz face or similar pedal but havnt got a clue whats good and whats not??

I want something with that 60's 70's, hendrix, clapton etc kinda sound if possible

Also I have been looking at making my own. always fancied making my own effects pedals but never sure where to start with them

Any advice or ideas you can offer would be great

Money no object - ZVEX Fuzz Factory.

The EH Muff range of pedals can be good. I bought the Little Big Muff which has LOADS of gain. Much too fuzzy for me, but gives nice Gilmour like singing lead tones. The Double Muff is ace though, a nice throaty roar. Cheap as chips too.

Oh, also there's been a reissue of the Dunlop Fuzz Face that Hendrix used. Pricey also, but (marketing hype alert) apparently uses the original components.

don't have too varied an experience, but my EH big-muff pi is beautiful.

Full-gain can get pretty heavy - think smashing pumpkins

can also do a really nice bluesy old-school fuzz vibe, ala hendrix
