Hi Guys,

I like many others want something new every now and then.
I was just wondering what I could buy to improve my system any.
My rig atm is nice, but lately I have been pondering over a few things such as: -

Dell 2407,
some new ram or 2GB more of the same ram,
another 320GB 16MB 7200.10 HDD for raid0 (would I see an improvement over my 7200.9's in raid0)
a new HSF such as a TT Ultra 120,
soundcard (not sure if really needed with on board sound of mobo)

My rig consists of an E6600 @ 3.1GHz (Zalman CNPS9500 HSF), 2GB XMS2 6400 C4, GA-P35C-DS3R, BFG 8800GTX OC @ stock, 2 x Barracuda's 160GB 8MB RAID0, 1 x 320GB Barracuda 16MB, Enermax Liberty 620W, 225BW 22", all in an akasa 62 with blue cathode's.

I dont fancy watercooling am happy with air.

Nothing serious just thought I would ask to see if anyone is in the same boat and likes a new toy every now and then.

Out of your options I'd pick the monitor as making the biggest difference overall. I tend not to upgrade individual components much, usually I just do the whole system every few years if I have the cash spare but I do buy bits and bobs that aren't PC related more often as a treat. :)

Funny you should mention that as I've just purchased a Dell 2407WFP and it is absolutely fandabidozy.

So my Samsung 225BW is going up for auction!!!!

me I'd go for 2GB extra ram and the cpu cooler (tt ultra 120 extreme), but I like a cool system with lots of ram (Use mine for rendering)

Depending on what you use your pc for theres things like the logitech nulooq (2d controller, useful for photoshop etc), 3d connexion spacenavigator (3D motion controller for cad/google earth etc), both can be had for under £50

Whats wrong with giving it to charity? ... funny though because... i just made a charity... umm... help the ... needy?

I think you should save it for getting a G90 GTX :D

Would you recommend me in investing in 4GB of different ram or 2GB more of what I already have

depends really, if you intend to clock the system, then maybe buying some higher rated stuff might be worth it but if youre not (or know how to set the ram at a different speed to cpu - I don't I'm a novice at OCing), if youre not then I would get a second matching pair.

I have 4 1GB sticks of the same ram, saves any issues with settings etc and it makes a nice uniform look to the area on the motherboard :).

if your into gadgets and want a handy upgrade them i bought one of those imon DT wireless remote cards.

its similar to this one but has no drive bay and fits in a pci slot (looks similar to a wireless card)

cos i use my comp for all my media,tv etc. i can now sit in bed, play music, video watch telly check the weather/ news all with the inbuilt program. the control allows you to turn the computer on and off remotely, open other applications use it as a mouse with the joystick on the remote. its great not too expensive and its not like you plug it in and gaze at how nice it looks on oyur mobo you can actually fiddle with it to your fancy!

look at what i've just written i should be the working for them in sales... :o
