Hi I just want to conect my logitech Z5500 speakers digitally via the coax to the digital out on my audigy 2zs.

I think i need a mono RCA to mono 1/8" headphone style jack. Is this correct?

If so can someone possibly contact me by email with somes links of where to get the correct cable!!

I have been looking with google but have become quite confused and i really dont want to be spending money on the wrong thing!

you can do it with a normal stereo mini jack to 2 phono. Just use the left(black) connector into the coax of the z5500 pod. It will most likely only allow 48 KHz sampling rate though, but it does work untill you can find a proper digital (well screened) cable for 96 KHz mode via spdif.

Thanks for the email xb8browney it helped allot.

Now im not an audio buff but would like to know why i cant get the full sampling rate over digital coax? Madmatty do you think you could explain? C

Cheers

Well with the method I posted, I expect its simply because its not a digitaly certified screened cable. a standard mini jack to phono cable doesnt allow enough error free bandwidth for the 96k digital out option. That said, I have no real 96k 24bit audio dvds to test with sending the encoded stream direct to the speakers and anyother audio would be being upsampled to 96k anyway.

Actually I have one dvd audio sampler that came with the audigy, but the software doesnt allow it to be sent over digital anyway :/
