I know little about modern LCD screens because I've never had one and am currently using a reasonable Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 19" CRT.. but now I think I want something like a 22" widescreen LCD.
A brief browse has found a few options in my price range:

I don't want to spend too much, but I do want a 1080p screen.
What I'm not sure about is what to look for, and horror stories I've heard about dead pixels being considered 'acceptable' by some manufacturers makes me worry.
So.. anyone got any advice for me?

:)
I was thinking of getting the Asus VH226H but it appears to be out of stock; the VH222H ( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-014-AS ) seems to differ very little.
It seems to have very good reviews; does anyone have any experiences of this monitor to share before I go ahead and grab it? Anyone have any counter-recommendations for me?
I'm still not quite sure of the procedure regarding 'dead' or otherwise not-quite-working-properly pixels.. how likely is that? What do I do if it happens?

Looks good. I don't know which one of those is best, but I'd assume they're all pretty similar.

Most dead pixel warranties will replace it if there are 3-5+ dead pixels, but it varies from manufacturer. I don't know about OCUK's policy. I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.

Thanks, D D Danneh.
I'm likely just being paranoid about the dreaded dead pixels.. I dunno.
After taking a while to think I think I'm leaning towards the VH222H which has a lower response time but a slightly better picture, from what I've read.. seeing as I use my computer for things other than gaming much of the time I think that's the best choice.

Well, my Asus V222H arrived today and I'm really impressed with the picture quality :) thanks OcUK!
Now I just need a system that can game effectively at 1080p..

Are dead pixels still an issue? I buy in LCD's for my office and have probably purchased well over 150 LG and Samsungs mainly and and only ever come accross 1 with a dead pixcel. And that was on one of the very early unbraded ones.
