Hey all - I used to play on the Linktart server a few years ago, until it closed down, and then migrated to another server. This other server I have both FTP and SSH access. I'm fine with the ftp side of things, but I'm not too clued up on the SSH side of things. I know how to start a new screen, start the server and correctly detach - other than that......
It seems this server is also getting very quiet, and the owner isn't overly interested in keeping it going, so I'm looking to start my own.
I would like to have the beyond modpack (as that's what I'm halfway through building a big base in). I will obviously need to rent a server. Some seem to have Minecraft as an option like https://www.gamingdeluxe.co.uk/game-servers/minecraft for example. Would I be able to run a modpack on this, or do I need to look for something else? What sort of spec should I look at for a modded version of Minecraft? Once I get a server, what do I then do?
I'm really new to setting up a server. I can change settings/restart etc once it's all setup, but how do I initially set it up?
