Isn't Buckley that guy who made a godawful comic run about a miscarriage? And sent a picture of his penis to an underage girl who then posted it on the internet?

Haha, I hadn't heard about the latter, but yes to the former, and it wasn't just a comic, it was a series of comics. :/

Not quite, he did a (roughly) month long storyline about one of the main characters of CAD becoming pregnant, and then losing the baby.

It annoyed a lot of people because he turned "A Gamers Comic" into something different, when reality it hasn't truely been a gaming webcomic in quite some time. I myself welcomed the change, and thought it was nice to see what other areas he could explore with a storyline - my only gripe was that it was too long.

The 'Jackie penis' thing is actually pretty well documented. I'm not even spouting trash at anybody here, so you're a bit jumpy right now aren't you?

He was approached on the cad forums, said thread got deleted (but saved by some) with succinct admission and subsequent mass-bans. I'm amazed for such a huge Buckley fan like you (you're the only one who likes that miscarriage diatribe) you didn't know. Tim Buckley is more well known for flashing his maggot at little girls over the internet than writing comics. ;)

My gripe is that it was ****ing awful. It wasn't that he ruined a "Gamers Comic" or whatever, it's that he took what was supposed to be a funny* comic, and took a horrible, atrocious, misguided, and painful serious turn with it. He didn't even handle the seriousness well, and it just ended up embarassing and cringeworthy.

*Supposed to be funny. CAD was rarely ever ACTUALLY funny.

EDIT: That comic above shows it exactly. Funy, funny, funny, OH NO RANDOM TRAGEDY IN MY COMIC LET US ALL BE SERIOUS AND REFLECTIVE, back to funny.
 
He's ****, he relies on basic artwork and poor story lines to be funny, it's a comic, it should be funny without relying on the same basic formats every comic, a good comic can be hilarious with little or no text.

You don't turn a comic into something to use to vent about something that happened in your life, it's pathetic.

Some people think he's a brilliant writer and is "deep", because of the recent story line.

No, Ethan falls in love, Lilah gets pregnant, they lose the baby.

Great, amazing writing.

All the comics relating to it have been cringe worthy, and they're not getting any better.

He's not funny, he's a weirdo.

I read CAD for a long time, and it is was quite funny at times, when it didn't take it's self so seriously, then it got worse, then he decided to cash in with woeful animated series etc, then ruined the whole thing.

Not at all, it's very easy to start talking trash on the internet about somebody without any proof - so it's easier to take everything with a pinch of salt before somebody puts some proof up.

Fair enough, seems I hadn't heard about this penis thing and I'm sorry, "spouting trash" was a little exaggerated.

I don't visit the CAD forums or follow Tim Buckley, so I had no idea what you were talking about. I've never claimed to be a huge Buckley fan, I just enjoy CAD :)

Just done some of my own digging and if that all of this is true then it's pretty cringe worthy I agree, but if I'm honest it's not going to stop me reading his comics. My opinion of the bloke doesn't really matter to whether or not I enjoy reading his comics. He does seem to be a bit of a **** but meh, so are a lot of people. Look at how many people hate Bill Gates but still use Windows :p

I'm not the only one who thought the storyline was okay, like I said - I welcome change in things and thought it was good to start a different storyline. If I'm honest I thought he should have let Lilah and Ethan have a kid but it would have probably ruined it more as it would have gone "Even more away from a gamer comic", or he'd have to turn the baby into some sort of Stewie Griffin character or give the baby adventures to make it interesting. I don't think it was a good storyline the way it ended, but I'm certainly not going to start crying that he's ruined CAD by doing a poorly executed storyline.

CAD and XKCD are the two main webcomics I enjoy. Yours are probably different, I have no problem with that so I don't see why people should have a problem with me enjoying CAD.

There's also a pretty big sweary in the comic you've posted mate.
