..how good flash can be

Recently got a 430Ex, really pleased with it - has completely altered my perception about how flash plays a part in photography. the 430ex gets the thumbs up from me..highly recommended for coverage and quality. Need to get a diffuser for direct flash usage though.

Thought I'd illustrate it with a few cute baby photos all taken with it...

May I recommend a Stofen Omni-Bounce diffuser for your flash.

It really really makes a big and positive improvement to close-ish indoor shots especially people.

as long as its pointed up Its incredible. Using it as direct fill is somewhat harder. Your shots are beautiful.

I know exactly what you mean. Received my own 430EX this week. The first photos I took with it didn't look like flash photography, looked like reasonable daylight photography, which I guess is what a good flash does.
My old 300D with built in flash never got close to that.
