I WASHED MY IPOD.

My iPod touch went swimming in the bath. Foolishly I turned it back on after it switched off. A few days in rice on a radiator restored it. I have a.few bright lines on the screen, the headphone jack keeps thinking there's something plugged in and when playing through headphones the speaker plays a little too.

Rice isn't expensive. Get down your local shop and get some.

I got a fiio dock amplifier to cure the sound leakage and a squirt of isopropyl alcohol in the jack cures the headphone switch.

It's a gen 2 touch.

The screens can be a bugger to get off though as I tried and failed to get my daughters screen off to replace her headphone jack which went faulty.
 
ahh well, i got it apart and left it in the sun for the few days we had it haha i had it completley apart and could see no signs of water or water damage apart from a time bit of that blue limescale or whatever it is on the from part of the mainboard, but a cotton bud cleaned that off and a few days later i tried it and it worked! :D
and whats even better is that the water fixed my ipods camera! XD no joke lol before the camera shutter wouldnt open no matter how many times i restore and reset it but now it works fine! :D

If your iPod camera fails... Wash it :D

LOL glad to hear it's working again! expensive wash cycle otherwise init!
