Dreamcast Dreamcast I never shut up about Dreamcast I must drive everyone insane. I've just been sitting here just missing not having a console with so many arcade hits on it. I guess that maybe why a small number of folk like myself prefered the Saturn over the Playstation.

I had Soul Calibur, Zombie revenge, House of the Dead 2, Virtual Fighter 3, Sega Rally 2, Fighting Vipers 2 and the list went on and on. It was fortunate that a lot of these classics were made by Sega so the were bound to the Dreamcast.

Now if I wanted so many Arcade classics I'd after to buy every NextGen console and never in a million years could I afford that. The only option is Emus but I don't want to go braking laws.

Man the Console industry as gone crap hasn't it?

I wish Sega still made consoles. :( So I could get all their latest hits on one console that's all. Is that to much to ask? :(

Man if I struck oil and come into billions of pounds I'd get Sega back on top.

I thought the same until the PS3 and Motorstorm ;)

I agree though the Dreamcast had a great library of titles Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Tennis being 3 of my favs. Shame it wasn't supported as strongly as its rivals

well what arcade games are there there days which are actually any cop?

tbh tekken, time crisis, ridge racer.

and most consoles have their own games which are better than arcade franchise's anyway

Dreamcast still has a massive market over in Japan because of the way it was constructed and made for arcade games, still new games coming out all the time for it.

A couple of years ago Sega actually started manufacturing dreamcasts again for 3 months because there was such a demand for the consoles in Japan!

My balls has it. We've never had it so good!

I don't agree.

Even though we've got far better graphics now, HD resolutions, Xbox live, market place and all that fancy stuff.

I can't think of a nextgen game that has matched fun I had on the classics like guardian heroes, virtua fighter, sonic adventures, sega rally, virtua cop, powerstone etc, the list goes on.

The only things that have come close with regards to next gen consoles, are the games I've downloaded off of Xbox Live Arcade, which I love.

And considering I went from the Mega Drive to the Sega Saturn, that was probably the biggest leap in my console owning history.

Saturn to Dreamcast, Dreamcast to Xbox, Xbox to 360 were nothing special.

But Mega Drive to Saturn made it even more special.

and I too agree with wishing Sega still made consoles, they just haven't been the same since they stopped, even though they still make games, they're not a patch on ones they made for their own consoles.

I couldn't care less about graphics. Things like XBox live and the Wii really make this generation of consoles worth having IMO.

Edit: I sorely miss the decent sega games. Bring back sega rally, burning rangers, sega rally and decent sonic games (although sonic rush on the DS is supurb!).

At the end of the day, we play games for fun.

And I haven't had as much fun with any console since the Saturn and Dreamcast, not even close.

Which is why I don't agree we've never had it as good, a lot of games are over done now and aren't all that fun anymore really.

Things like Xbox live aren't that amazing to me since I've been a hardcore PC gamer for a very long time, so the multiplayer aspect isn't that awesome.

It's a good leap foward for consoles, but it's not as fun as good old console parties and console lans.

I don't see the Wii as fun at all, it's just a silly novelty.

You either flail around like a fool (not my thing)

And if you don't you're stuck with a console that isn't that great.

SEGA FOR LIFE, RAWRR! :D

Dreamcast was awesome, I play it every now and then, mainly for the shooters, sadly it seems to ahve stopped working when I tried to plug it in the other day there was no video signal :(

I wish they would bring back Sega Rally twice too.
I think there is one in the works anyway...

It will compare to it - you just cant compare the exerience of playing something new and fresh to how you felt playing the original game years ago, when arcades were exciting and fresh.

This year we have a new Afterburner and new Sega Rally - last year we had the new outrun, great fun that it was most of these remakes have all limited replay value as they are designed around that one more go factor in the arcades that has never translated well to home systems.

I strongly disagree. The Godfather has very immersive controls and that's something I'll never get on another console. Horses for courses though :)

Me too - playing golf being another good example, or bowling in Wii Sports. I'm waiting for Brian Lara to come out on the Wii - that would rock. A decent Star Wars game involving light sabres would make my day too

Shouldn't have read this thread, I've only recently put my DC back into its original packaging and put it in my cupoard alongside my NES and SNES. Now I'm tempted to set it back up again.

It'd be great if Sega released Zero Gunner 2 on XBLA, infact im gonna drop them an email suggesting that. ;)
