I normally have folding@home running on my PC, and I fold for the CustomPC magazine team. The latest edition came out today and a person on steam friends messaged me saying I was last month's winner on the folding@home page in the mag! I thought he was pulling my leg as I wasn't quite sure how he knew my folding name!

But yeah, awesome, I somehow managed to win something without realising I was even in the running for a prize!

similar but i didnt win anything and no "crisp £10 note" anywho, my pc got into july 2008 issue of pc format. pleasant suprise since i entered around december time. shame its got my old gfx n psu etc :(

oh well have fun with your free card !

Hehe nice one. Latest issue came out yesterday I think, and is issue 59 dated August 2008.

How did you win? Is it by getting the most points or something?

Im not too sure, I think it's some sort of lucky dip they do every month. Need to have submitted at least one work unit for the month to enter!

Great little card! Oh I just noticed you had an 8800 :p I guess you wont be replacing it then!

Hehe indeed not, but I guess it can go in my second PC that is currently just gathering dust!

How do you prove who you are? Theres no way to identify people on folding@home unless you are part of a forum and use your username.

enjoy :).

new cards and all, it's still a decent card - you could keep it if your current card decides to give up the gost or needs an RMA, or something (in that case, you could just Xfire it ang get pretty much the same performance :D)

just wandering . is a 3850 better than my 8800gts 640mb. i was reading benchmarks of it in what must be last months custom pc mag (gonna get the new one today). seems even the 320mb beats it.

oh and for proof . just look at the carpet (for my pic) and then look in the desk room gallery thing. no one else has a carpet like that (i hate though)
