Hi all, i've got a asus msn32 sli motherboard, with a dual core 5200+ AMD in her. I've been thinkin of getting a 5000 black edition, i know it's not much faster but it is faster and will need less volts ( kinda )

i was thinkin if i stick some 1066mhz ram in it would i be able to go faster then my board supports, ie over 800mhz ?
Would it be worth it ???

i've got some dominator in there at the momment 4-4-4-12 T1

Any thoughts ??

Thanks

Worth pointing out that the M2N's only support the Phenom with a bios patch, and that the board doesn't have the right hyperthread,(or some other flummy) to run the CPU quite right.
I patched the bios while still using my 5600+ and performance nosedived, suggesting that either the board slows something down to allow for accessing 4 cores, or that I'm a pillock and that bios version just breaks dual cores.

Sorry, it is the phenom BE you're looking at right?

RAM-wise, I agree, not worth the money, you'll see little benefit.
