I would to clone my hard disk to a bootable DVD

So if my computer goes pete tong I can install it back to it's current state just by throwing in my DVD

norton ghost can do that

not sure if acronis trueimage as i tried to save the image to DVD but not bootable

What I do is I have my external drive, and I've got a few images on it and its unplugged when not in use.

Use Acronis to make an image, save it on the External Drive.

When you need to recover the image, boot with Acronis, with the Ext. HD connected, and restore the image that you want.

It works great as I have a partitioned drive, one for OS one for Data.

i found terabyte unlimited imagining software to be the dogs danglies.

Havent used it for a while but bootitNG could do it all without even needing a DVD

How does it work then surely you need to store the image somewhere ?

acronis can save to either..
network share
another drive
hidden partition on same drive
usb/external hard drive
usb stick
cd/dvd's
