I wrapped it and spoiled it. (lol56k)

Well, sort of, but not really ;)

Having bought my car with the Burr Walnut Trim, i decided that, although i had definitely got used to it over the last few months, it wasn't to my taste. So i had a look around for the possibilities of changing it. I particularly liked the idea of replacing it with the Piano Black gloss trim, but this seemed to be very rare and came with the warning that it would attract dust and scratches very easily. I then happened to stumble across pictures of Dr House's other 335i, with the wrapped carbon effect trim with cream interior and thought it looked absolutely spot on.

So, i ripped my interior out (my God, it took a while and was a very delicate process), sent it off to a guy on eBay ("carbon_king" is his username - http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/carbon_king) and he sent it back via next day delivery fully wrapped. If anyone is looking at getting something wrapped, "carbon_king" comes very highly recommended from me. Not only are his wrapping skillz second to none, but kept up brilliant communication and even offered to repair any clips which i had broken (only one thankfully) when i took the trim off. I was a little nervous at first sending my trim off to a random guy on eBay but talking to him beforehand, i realised everything would go fine.

The wrap is great (he used the proper 3M wrap), i didn't realise how good it would be, but it's absolutely fantastic and, most importantly, looks and feels like it could be OEM.

I also decided that i wasn't getting enough downforce in the corners, so i invested in an M3 spoiler (;)). Now, like my front Aero lip, i was all but decided on going Genuine BMW, but then i happened to spot on eBay (again!) M3 replica spoilers from fully painted with Dupont paint and delivered for £49. Since the Genuine M3 Spoiler was going to be difficult to get a hold of (BMW dealers make it hard for people with non M3 VIN numbers to get M3 parts) and cost £180 + painting, i figured for £49 painted and delivered, it was worth a punt!

And boy am i glad i did. I wasn't exact filled with confidence as to what it would look like, being cheap and non OEM, but when i received it, it was....perfect? There was nothing more that i could have asked from it. The paint was absolutely spot on (and, believe me, i scrutinised it), and it fitted perfectly with no bending required.

I think it looks utterly fantastic, and think these spoilers should have been fitted as standard as they improve the back end massively.

So, there we are, my two little mods that i've done for £not very much. As usual, comments are welcome (unless they are negative comments in which i reserve the right to bitch, moan, sulk and cry)

Looked much nicer before - cream and leather go together, cream and fake carbon fibre don't. Shame, it was a classy interior before :(

of course fox is entitled to his opinions, but I like it, I really dont like the fake wood or real wood effect. nice work.

I get the feeling you may be on your own there.

I really like the carbon and cream.

Spoiler: thumbs up.

Interior wrap: thumbs down. Because the weave effect is far too obvious it ends up looking like a magic eye picture. Plain black would have worked better IMO.

Isn't it dark poplar, not walnut?

It looks ok but I preffered the wood.

I think i've really done the wood trim too much justice with my mad photography skills - i must admit, in the photo, it really doesn't look that bad, because it looks darker than it was. It was quite a bit lighter than it appears in the photo and always reminded me of....diarrhea, because that's the colour is resembled :/

The dark wood trim, i actually liked, but this was light brown trim in a car with cream leather and black plastic - totally wrong.

The 3 series just does not suit light wood trim IMO, it's more of a "sporty" car than the 5 or 7, which can pull wood off. The leather with carbon effect reflects much better what the car is about all round general "sportiness" with creature comforts and quality, rather than the wood and leather, which is suited to a wafty, comfortable car.

RE: the magic eye of the carbon effect - yes, this was making me feel a bit dizzy as i was uploading the photos, but IRL, it's not like that thankfully. Also, once it has "weathered" a bit, it should go more matte colour apparently.
