Hey,

i'm rebuilding my current computer just been double checking that its all compatible as follows:

i3 2120 (sandy bridge)
Asrock fatal1ty Z68 pro gen3
Referance gtx 570
G.Skill RipJawsX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C9 2133MHz
775W Thermaltake TPX-775M ThoughPower XT
2 500GB sata 2 western digital blue (Raid 0)
standard dvd/cd drive
Noble nob20A mid-tower case

The motherboard will run the 2133MHz memory,im unsure weather the i3 2120 is capable of running the memory at 2133MHz ?

also im i right in saying that the i3 2120, you cant overclock at all?

if you see anything else that could b a problem please let me know :P

Thanks
Will

hi there, my guess would be that it would just underclock the RAM to run at 1600mhz, as its what it says the memory controllor supports, but i could be wrong, id reccomend just getting the 1600mhz version of the RAM you have chosen (linked below).

do you now if this memory can be found at £55 don't really have the extra money :P

i take it it will not run the memory at 2133MHz then, i may still buy this memory as its default is 1600MHz, you need to enable XMP to run it at the 2133MHz. the plan is to upgrade to ivy bridge when they come out or may be sandy bright-E

Thanks

I'm going to be upgrade to an ivy bridge and a gen3 graphics card when they come out so i want a mobo that is going to last for the next 5 years at least since is been about 5 or 6 since I last had the money to upgrade my computer.

"future proofing" as it were :P

thanks
