Looking for an easy ~4.4Ghz clock with best memory bandwidth and as quiet as is reasonably possible. :) How about this:

Intel Core i3 540 3.06GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail
Asus P7H55-M/USB3 Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 microATX Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)
Corsair Hydro H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ)

Existing case: Coolermaster Elite 335
Existing GFX: 3850
O/S: XP

Not sure about the memory as it's not on the QVL for that motherboard but it is part of the Argon Extreme Intel Core i3 540 OCUK bundle so must be fine.

Could use the inbuilt IGP as long as that does not affect max o/c and temps.
Could upgrade the case if the cooling is not adequate. Presumably with these clocks it's just the cpu that gives the most heat and the motherboard is fine with 2 x case fans?

I was under the impression that the 540 could do 3.8-4.1 Ghz on stock. I'm sure the water cooler will be fine for it and the mobo temps won't get too high.

If you want to be safe, you could add an extra performance fan for the case.

Oh, and be sure to try and squeeze it to 4.6 before you settle for 4.4.
