Hi,

I use Flight simulator X and 2004 but my frames are showing really badly on this current machine. I am wanting to get a new computer and found a lovely one with these settings:
Intel I3 530 Dual Core 2.93ghz 4mb Cache
4GB DDR3 1333MHZ PC10660 Branded Memory
PCI Express Nvidia GT220 1gb
500gb 16mb Cache Serial ATA Hard Drive

Will these be any good for running fs9 or fsx (Would prefer FSX)

If you want the link to the computer, Please PM me

Thanks

is this pc one of those ones from shelfs?
if yes then, isuggest buying a prebuilt from ocuk or build it yourself

Hi, as you probably know fsx is very CPU intensive so overclocking is key. IIRC it can utilize multi cores with the acceleration expansion pack too. Best thing to do is give a budget and let's spec up a rig. In terms of graphics card what do you have and what else could be recycled?

This computer is off Ebay, Unfortanely i am unable to post links on this forum so it is hard to show you, Unless i get permission to post a link? It is only £343 and i can't buy until after christmas anyway because i am going to sell this on (Unless computer company exchange it for that one). What do you think about running FS9 / FSX? Or if i pay £350 i get same processor etc but I get a GT240 instead of a GT220.

Thanks
Dale

Running FSX myself and can confirm it likes a high clock frequency and plenty of RAM to work with. GPU is not all that important and it would run fine on even a 9800GT. Im running it with an E8400 Overclocked to 4GHz and it's sweet. If I were you I would build my own machine and use an i5 chip with a decent cooler so you can Overclock it to the teeth and couple this with 4GB of RAM. As I say even a 9800GT would run FSX no problem as it's more CPU intensive. You will get better value building your own machine and better components as most 'bargain basement' systems use cheap, inadequate PSU's.

Oh well, I am only 15 so don't have the money to build one or buy one at i5 range, I was hoping to get this exchanged back but that is now not going to happen
