Im just gathering info for the moment. First off im really happy with my current rig so ill be leaving the upgrade for a good few months yet, the thing is I would like to know the differences between the cpu's and which one to a certain extent would be the more future proof if any? Also what motherboard combo would work? Not looking at the expensive side just something I could maybe overclock in the future, cheers guys.:)

The i7 offer the most future proof options, the i7 CPU is a monster CPU especially when overclocked. The new gigabyte UD7 offers SATA III and and USB 3.0 along with 3 way crossfirex or SLI and with the ability of having up to 12GB RAM there will be no need to buy a new system for a while.
