working on build for my cousin

no games, genereal web surfing, word/excel,fast as possible
must have SSD, OS, monitor (21"-24 "), 1TB hard drive, be very snappy/fast no real budget but cheaper the better

im basically trying to weigh up i3 + h67
vs AMD llano vs phenom x4

phenom x4 + 880 am3 = £143.96

If he wants to game he can add gpu further down line but not likrly tbh he plays xbox a lot like.. a lot a lot :D

Went with 550w psu incase he wants to add a gpu later

There you go fella. You can use that link to compare cpus. What you need to be aware of is that the 955BE can be overclocked easily to 970 spec or higher. Hence me comparing the 980 to the i3 2100.

I would also suggest changing the spinpoint f1 to the f3 as it's faster. Or you could do a bundle deal with the OS and a HDD.

*edit* if you opt for an amd phenom build make sure you get an am3+ mobo (will cover BD CPUs then). Also might be worth considering an i5 cpu with a cheaper mobo to even out the cost

yeah SSD should make it feel "snappy" i guess :)

changed to f3 hd

is that good choice of SSD or should i go for something else only need 60gb tbh.

theres one for think 95.99 ocz 3 maybe i should switch over to that.
