I have just found out that a new unlocked i3 sandybridge is coming out :

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Intel-Prepares-Overclocking-Friendly-Core-i3-2120K-CPU-201302.shtml

This could be an interesting chip over-clocking wise as the i3 runs very cool with only 2 cores - I'm already thinking it may be my next budget build and over-clocking project. If it is £100 or less this could be a great entry level chip.

It has a stock clock of 3.3ghz so realistically aiming for 4.5ghz overclocked would be my initial aim and then push towards 5ghz :)

Combined with a £70 Asus p67 board and 8gb DDR3 and a 6770 ati card for around £300 I could have a really nice PC which I could just drop an i7 2600k into once the prices drop.

Decisions decisions....

yay! about time.

Will probably overclock like crazy, like the old i3 used to do. It must be making 2500K nervous for Intel to delay its release for so long. Or, it's complete crap :) But I bet it's a really quick chip.
