I need to know if there's much difference between these 2 processors, my sister is after a laptop without spending too much.

HP 15-ba044na with AMD a9 processor, or Acer Aspire E5-573 with Intel i3 processor.

The AMD one has 8GB ram and the Intel one has only 4GB ram. Is there much performance difference between them processor wise? Or are they very similar? Tried looking on Google but not seeing a whole lot of info trying to find comparisons.

Thanks.

Hard to tell without the CPU model numbers, usually the i3 would be better regardless of ram, look for one that you can swap the HDD for an SSD

The i3 is a 5005U no clue on what model the a9 is because it doesn't say on the laptop page, i really don't know anything about these in particular.

For general use it wont make much difference. I'd save some more money and get something with an ssd in it, As someone who uses a varierty of just out the box low end laptops day to day, win 10 in horrendously slow without an ssd with both those cpus!

Any recommendations on a couple? I can tell her but she is probably limited on choice due to cost, unless she still gets one of those 2 laptops and then an SSD separately.. Maybe void the warranty though.

There's some dell vostros for sub £400 with 128 gig ssds like the Dell Vostro 15 3000 Series (3568), only 1366x768 resolution on them but reviews still say the screen is half decent quality and is at least anti glare unlike a lot of similar priced laptops.

Saw a great offer on a HP 250 G5 i5 Laptop X0Q78ES with a 256gig ssd also sub £400 similar specs to the vostros but more storage, may go up in price at some point.

For £600 ish you have cheaper gaming laptops which might be worth a look. The MSI GL62 6QD has 256 gig ssd for windows plus 1tb regular hdd for more storage, a 1080p screen also anti glare, an i5 quad core cpu unlike the others which are all dual cores, and a nvidia 950m capable of some gaming, it also doesnt look too "gamery" and isnt any heavier than the others!
