Trying to help a freind buy a laptop.

Iv told them to look out for a core2quad processor, but then stoped short of saying or an i3.

Are the i3's comparable to the core2quads?

We are talking about laptops in the £400 below category here.

Are there any Core 2 Quad laptops available in this price range? I was under the impression you had to pay at least double that to get a system using that level of CPU.

For £400 an i3 or i5 (dual core) laptop would be the best bet.

May I ask what your friend will be using the laptop for? Do they plan on doing anything that will require a discrete graphics card (like gaming or CAD)?
