Hi just a quick question before i press the buy now button.
I am building an i3 based machine for a mate and have been pointed towards this motherboard
Asus P7P55D Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-360-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1495
looking at the next motherboard below
Asus P7P55D LE Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-363-AS
there is a price diff of £2 i presume the first motherboard the P7P55D is the better board..
Also it doesnt state on both product descriptions that they will take an i3?
I presume they both will being same socket?
Just wanting to clarify before i purchase .
Dont want to buy a board that will not take an i3...Or do i need to getting a Asus P7H55-M Pro Intel H55 (Socket 1156) Which does take a i3 in the product guide?
Thanks in anticipation.
Surely some one must know?

As far as i know most of the p55 mobo's dont actually have i3 support on the box or booklet or whatever but they are supported. In a similar light i think h55/57 mobo's dont normally show i7. Its just marketing though to try and keep p55 as higher end and h55/h57 as lower end i3 will work in either of those mobo's.

the Le doesnt have crossfireX support, where as the non le does.

I just ordered mine yesterday :)

Oh and btw the crossfire is 8x, 8x not full x16 16x although it doesnt matter a lot :p

I'm running an i5 750 on the P7P55D at 4.0Ghz, prime95 stable, so a thumbs up from me.

For the i3 530 though, I would choose the Gigabyte H55M-UD2 (or 3, if usb3.0 is a requirement). This board easily runs the i3 530 i have at 4.2Ghz and above.
