A friend of mine wants a PC for general use. No gaming at all.
Just iTunes and emails, storing Pics etc.

I don't use AMD anymore, and all my other CPU's have been i5 or i7.
this is out of his price range. Is the i3 decent enough?

Pentium anniversary will be more than enough power. I have one doing the same and even gaming!

I have the 3220 its decent chip, pentium anniversary is cheaper though but lacks hyperthreading that the 3220 has

Go for an asus H81.

Personally though I would go for the i3, I have the 4330 and for your use, it is perfect, and frankly a much more 'rounded' chip than the pentium. No over locking but it runs cool and has hyper threading, great for a general non-gaming pc.

Thanks Guys for input.
What would be a really good Mobo and Ram to pair up with that G3220?
you can pair it with any, even cheapo 1150 board. H81 chipset would be good enough.

the question is what is exactly do you want from MB (ports, expansions slots etc., brand preference) that will determine the exact model.

as for RAM, any 1600MHz branded stuff. go for the cheapest 2x4GB kit.
