+1 to this. Used to go way back, first one for me was i10. Stopped going round about i26 when the people I used to go with drifted away from it. The new venue doesn't suit me at all, as I live in West London, Newbury was only a short hop down the M4.
People talk about the expense, but I must say I never begrudged it - I always had a brilliant time, for me it was as good a laugh as going to Amsterdam (especially when we could bring our own drinks in). Nowadays, it seems to be plagued by badly behaved tweenies and those who can't handle their drink. It's a shame really as the i-series is a great tradition, think they need to clamp down on anti-social behaviour and they'll have the good old days back.
no such thing as too much security tbh, whilst there arent too many pricks they are about and they are there just for the sake of being pricks, and tbh the security were a nice bunch, even joined in on a few exhibitions last time, kept people in check when they had too much to drink and generally did an OK job at making sure people didnt take things, obviously theres only so much they can do about peripherals going missing
