I cant seem to get anymore out of the i5 2500k i recently bought.

Im using the asus p8z68v-gen3 board, thermalright silver arrow cooler, 8gb corsair vengeance low profile memory.

using 1.3v 4.5ghz is stable. Whats the maximum i can go to before getting worried. Under full load on prime im getting about 72C with room temperature about 24C.

Personnaly Id try reseating the cooler.
Then try 4.6GHz with 1.36v, works fine for me.

Are you using the silver arrow? Just wondered if you used the provided thermal paste. I used artic silver 5.

I've since changed 1.375v for 4.7ghz. For me the temps seem to yoyo up and down using asus ai monitor. Does the same on hwmonitor too.

Would prime95 be a better test than intel burn test? Just looked back at my burn test @4.7ghz failure at 40minutes.

Using prime95 with same settings at the moment.

Ah right. Although I wouldn't want to run with 1.425 24/7 it does give a bit more room to OC when you need the extra boost in the future. Always good to know.
