hi mate , could do with some advice

i got my i5 @ 4933mhz atm but cant seem to get it past the post screen at 5000mhz as the bios wont allow more than 1.50v

is there a way of getting past this?

system specs

P8Z 68V
I5 2500K
8GIG corsair vengence 1600
antec kuhler h20

i no the cpu will go further just need advice on the bios?

thanks in advance.

Firstly, IMO you're on thin ice pushing 5ghz/1.5v with a Kuhler.

Tried an updated bios? I used to own a P8Z68-V Pro and had no issues at all pushing north of 1.5v.

the bios says 1.9 is the limit ?

ive got it down to 1.475v now at same speed.

i just wanted to see if it would do 5gig not a 24/7 clock, and the temps aint that bad on intel burn very high test temp is 82c.

i have now lowered the speed to 4.7 @ 1.385v.

is it worth updating the bios ?

thanks.,

i would go for a bios update and maybe try notching the blck up a touch just to get yourself over the 5ghz mark if that fails i will give you £50 for that old ati 7970:)

Even teh latest 2500K can reach 5ghz at around 1.44v.

Have you tried tuning PLL both down and up to see what your CPU likes. Also try playing with VCCIO/VTT as this may help stabalise your clock with fewer volts.
