Looking at getting a i5 setup using members market prices.
Currently im on a asus p5kc mb which is nice to overclock my q6600 cpu at 3.2ghz and have 4gb of hyper x ddr2 ram. With a ssd on the way i bought recently i was thinking if im gona reinstall win7 i might think about a new comp while im at it and sell my old one to my bro for 350 which has a corsair 620w psu, antec p160w case etc.
Im looking for a i5 2500k setup (want to oc to 4-4.5ghz at least), 8gb ddr3 ram, 460 1tb gfx card minimum (must be nvidia) blueray dvdrw drive which i think are about 25 quid and case and a mb and cpu cooler.
Im thinking prices would be in mm about.
cpu - 100 ish
mb about 30-40 ish for a overclocking board to get about 4-4.5ghz on the i5 cpu easily.
bray dvdrw about 25-30 ish new iirc
case im thinking a case for 50 ish
psu im hoping a corsair 600w at the min for 50 quid (bought my current for 90 quid so hoping prices are down now (selling psu to bro and old setup u see).
cpu cooler about 30-35 at best
sound card, somit equal to an old sb audigy 2zs, nice for music and for headphones for about 30 quid not the asus cheapo one tho as tried it and didnt like it.
So roughly im thinking round about 400-450 in total.
Can it be done if so what kinda mb am i looking for, i would prefer an asus as i like them the best. Mb needs at least 1 sata3 connection and about 4 sata 2 connetions at the least support ahci for ssd ive ordered recently and good overclocking options.
Sorry about the kinda messy post i will probs try to clean it up a little tomorrow sometime.
Im a little out of the loop with all the new socket stuff and stuff needed for comps these days i.e motherboards specs etc so hence why im just hoping i can check back here look for the stuff and probs get that and build it.
