Hi,

I've just set up my new system of 2500k, AsRock Extreme3 Gen3, M4 SSD etc.
All great but my 5yr old Arctic Freezer 7 pro had a bit snap when reseating so having to use the stock Intel cooler for now.

I live in Australia so some of my options are different, e.g. the Gelid's are not available here. My best store is this one (sorry, link may not go direct to cooling page) from the choice I guess the Hyper 212 Plus is the stand out for my needs.

I'll be happy with a stable 4.3-4.5Ghz on my system. (It's already an astounding difference at 3.5Ghz compared to my C2D e6600!)

Anything else around $40 worth a look? I'd prefer smaller size as some are massive units. Also, do they all have backplates which require taking everything apart? My old one just clipped in.

Thank you

No problem with that link here.

Its also worth mentioning your case make/model so nothing too big is suggested.

Yea I should have added that. It's a Thermaltake Soprano RS. Documentation says will fit cooler no more than 176mm or at least 165mm. I'll measure when I get home.
Comparing the dimensons of my former HS to the Coolermaster I see it's 32.5mm higher but should be fine.
Hyper 212: 120 x 80 x 159 mm
Freezer 7: 107 × 96.5 × 126.5 mm

I'd be OK pushing by budget to $50 but the next step up is nearer $60-70 and I don't think it's necessary for my OC needs, I'm not going extreme. If the Hyper could get me to 4.5Ghz then I don't see the need to spend more. I should point out (smugly) the ambiet temp here is higher that back in the UK which does make a difference.

Skythe low profile isn't required so still looks like the Hyper is the best bet. Unless anyone sees any better? The plus model is cheaper than the EVO and reading around the difference doesn't seem much but guess i'd take the newer model
